Welcome to
Twisted S Longhorns

Like many in the Texas Longhorn community, our story began with just four Longhorns. At the time, we saw them mostly as beautiful additions to our pasture. It didn’t take long, however, for those four to become more as Ann fell in love with these majestic animals. Before we knew it, our little herd was growing, and we had decided to take the next step into breeding and showing Texas Longhorns.
We have been fortunate to live near some of the country’s outstanding Longhorn breeders. Several sold us our first cows and, even more importantly, generously shared their knowledge and experience with us along the way. Their mentorship has helped shape our breeding program and taught us what to look for as we work toward building the kind of herd we are proud to raise.

Our goal is to produce complete, well-rounded Texas Longhorns. We place importance on correct conformation, strong maternal instincts, beautiful color, calm and gentle dispositions, and, of course, impressive horn.

In 2022, we stepped into the Longhorn futurity world. Since then, we have traveled to futurities and events where we have met some truly wonderful people. The friendships, encouragement, and willingness of others to share their knowledge have been invaluable to us as we continue learning and growing as breeders.

Another part of our program is raising steers for Longhorn beef. We processed our first steer in 2023 and were pleasantly surprised by just how delicious the beef was. Longhorn beef gives us another opportunity to appreciate the versatility of this incredible breed while providing a naturally lean and flavorful product.

What began with four Longhorns simply decorating a pasture has grown into something we genuinely love. We’re excited to see where the years ahead take our breeding program and grateful for the people, cattle, friendships, and experiences we have gained along the way.

If you ever find yourself in southeast Alabama, we would love for you to stop by. We’re always happy to meet new people and talk all things Longhorns.
